Planning the Edible Harvest - Creating & Sustaining Your School Garden - Saturday February 27th, 2010, 10:30am-3:00pm - Hollister - Presented by LifeLab
 A healthy, year-round school garden is a critical component of a vibrant nutrition education program.  Join us to learn how to effectively manage a school garden so that students can enjoy an edible harvest.  This workshop will provide essential tips and best practices for teachers that want to conduct garden-based nutrition education projects. Participants will learn how to:

  • Identify easy-to-grow fruits and vegetables that can be harvested within the school year
  • Utilize school gardens effectively for nutrition education
  • Learn lessons and tips for consuming garden grown goodness with students and enhancing their nutritional knowledge and acceptance of a variety of fruits and vegetables.
