Life Lab Science Program are excited to May 22-23 , 2010 |
Photos from past Family Camps |
Many Life Lab camp parents have commented about our summer camps and said: "I want to go to a camp like this" - well now is your chance!
Location:
Pie Ranch is minutes north of Ano Nuevo State Park and serves as a "Rural Center for Urban Renewal." They also grow all the ingredients to make great pies!
Schedule:
Saturday May 22nd
Arrive at Pie Ranch at noon with a packed lunch, eat and set up camp by 1:00. You bring your own camping equipment (we'll be able to help out with extra equipment if needed).
We'll tour the farm and harvest/collect items for dinner and breakfast. Berries, eggs, wheat, milk, beans and a bit more will fill our baskets. (Don't worry we'll supplement what we can't get at Pie Ranch, you know things like coffee beans - but you'll have to hand grind those beans!)
We'll get an early start on making dinner and everyone will have something to do. It is guaranteed to be the most satisfying meal you have ever made from scratch. During the day we will also partake in farm crafts, nature games and the such.
We'll end the night with a campfire program and of course pie!
Sunday May 23rd
If the roosters doen't wake you, your kids probably will.
Morning dew, bird choirs, and the smell of the Central Coast will greet you. Breakfast will be made in the same fashion as the previous night's dinner - chopping, grinding and mixing. No Eggo waffles here!
After packing up camp there will be a nature hike up the hill that will end with a view overlooking Point Ano Nuevo (let's hope for no fog!)
You'll be on your way back home around lunch.
Details:
$65 per person, children 4 and under 1/2 price
