Day Camps 2011

Our summer day camps are coming to a close. Foggy mornings and sunny afternoons have framed great days of exploration, harvest, cooking, crafts, farm chores, and fresh-fruit-pop-sucking-story-time.

Two chicks were born during camp, one is a unique Frizzle chick! Only about 1/4 of Frizzle offspring actually get the curly frizzled feathers and this chick is fantasically frizzled.

Expanded sessions of Garden Sprouts were very well received by 4-6 year olds. Wildlands and Watering Cans served 7-10 year olds, and a session of Farm and WIlderness for 11-14 year olds ended our summer line up.

Thank you hard working camp staff, camp assitants, interns, and volunteers! Once again you helped to create great memories up here at the Garden Classroom and UCSC CASFS Farm!

Check out our Wildlands and Watering Cans Summer Camp Camper Journal which has camp activitiy pages and loads of recipes. It is in Word fomat so you can modify it for your purposes.

Have a great rest of your summer.

Terry had another awesome two weeks at Life Lab. I think he learns more there than in any other part of his year. School is great, but he’s passionate (and often dogmatic) about what he learns there.
