Life Lab

Life Lab cultivates children's love of learning, healthy food, and nature through garden-based education.

The hardest working staff at the Garden Classroom are our hens. Us humans go home at the end of the day and these girls, and one boy, watch over the garden 24/7, 365 days a year. During the day you can check in on them at their water dish web cam. You might be lucky enough to see just how cute a drinking chicken can be.

Here is the most recent bio page that we have on display at their coop and the photo album below tells the story of the co-parenting hens and very supportive rooster.

Check out the last image, it is a video of our rooster Frizzle dancing and feeding his hens.

Terry had another awesome two weeks at Life Lab. I think he learns more there than in any other part of his year. School is great, but he’s passionate (and often dogmatic) about what he learns there.
