This year’s Spring Benefit Brunch has been CANCELED

Spring Ahead

As we move into this season, we are thoughtful of new ways to connect and grow.  How fitting that during this time of change, nature is leading by example with sprouting seeds, buds, and beautiful blossoms.  With this in mind, we look to our garden programs to embrace innovative ways of sharing our work.

The impact of these last 2 weeks on Life Lab programs has been significant.  We were teaching school garden educator workshops, teaching students in our PVUSD Partner School gardens and kitchen classrooms, planning our annual Spring Benefit Brunch and other community gatherings, hosting school field trips and group tours in our Garden Classroom, and developing new ways to support school garden education locally & nationally.  We now find ourselves adapting to the reality of extended school closures, canceled events, and shelter in place.

“How does our Garden Grow?”

Life Lab will continue to work with our PVUSD partner schools and organizations in our School Garden Support Network to share online options for students, educators, and the public to engage in garden education activities.  Many lesson plans meet NGSS and CORE program requirements therefore useful for online distance learning. SEL, Mindfulness, and the Growth Mindset are all reflected in garden based education as well.  We also have a very robust Life Lab blog and Youtube channel full of family friendly nature based activities to keep kids learning and engaged.  We are also committed to our local impact and actively cultivating new programs so stay tuned!

A diverse garden is a thriving garden so here are various ways to connect with 40 years of Life Lab activities, lessons, and engagement for EVERYONE.

Nature is the best resource for knowledge which is why our mission is to cultivate children’s love of learning, healthy food, and nature through garden based education.

Although we are physically apart, we are together in grace and good health.  Be well everyone and thank you for all you do to support our beautiful community.

Gardens of Gratitude,

Terry had another awesome two weeks at Life Lab. I think he learns more there than in any other part of his year. School is great, but he’s passionate (and often dogmatic) about what he learns there.
