You made the summer unforgettable for 37 children.
Thanks to your generous gift to the Summer Scholarship Fund, more than one-third of our campers were able to attend this summer—including seven spots for incredible campers who are recent refugees or asylum-seeking immigrants.
Your support didn’t just fund camp spots—it opened doors, sparked confidence, and created lifelong memories.
One parent shared:
"I just wanted to say thank you for facilitating such a wonderful summer camp. [My camper] was so nervous about going beforehand, but I’m really glad we pushed past the anxiety and stayed the course because he absolutely loved it. It was definitely a highlight of the summer, and he wants to return next year."
Your kindness made stories like this possible. Thank you for helping kids grow, explore, and shine. 💛

And the garden bloomed because of YOU! 🌻🥕🐝
Just look at the joy on these campers' faces as they snack on freshly harvested carrots—pulled straight from the garden moments before this photo!
Take a look behind them: the lush, colorful beds bursting with veggies, edible plants, and sunflowers are all thanks to your generosity last spring. Your support helped us prepare every inch of the garden for summer, and the results were nothing short of amazing.
And there’s even more to buzz about: your gift also welcomed a new queen bee to our hive! 🐝
Come visit the Garden Classroom to see your thriving exhibition hive and the beautiful garden you helped bring to life.
Thank you for planting the seeds of a truly unforgettable summer. 🌱
But the Garden Classroom & Kitchen could use your help.
For several years, the Garden Classroom on the UCSC Farm sat quiet and still because of the pandemic. Wonderfully, this past summer, something beautiful happened: Life Lab’s summer camp in the Garden Classroom came back to life!
But the quiet years left their mark.
Outdoor tables had become wobbly and splintered.
Shade umbrellas had frayed edges and holes, offering less relief from the summer sun.
Even the once-beloved outdoor kitchen had dulled.
Your gift at this link today will help with needs such as:
Repairing or replacing deteriorated outdoor tables so that children and interns can gather, create, and eat together comfortably.
Providing new shade umbrellas, offering relief and rest from the late-summer and early fall sun.
Reinvigorating our outdoor kitchen with essential tools—mixing bowls, cutting boards, and appliances—so that cooking becomes a safe, tactile, and delightful experience for every learner.
Your gift today reinvigorates Life Lab’s Garden Classroom and Kitchen for elementary field trips, college internships, and outdoor education workshops.
