Playing Human Camera

Pretend to be cameras and photographers and you and your kids will see the garden in a whole new light. Ages 2+, 15 min+

Head outside and show your child how you will guide her safely and then have her close her eyes.  Tell her, “Now I’m the photographer, and you’re the camera.”  Walk slowly holding her hand and elbow until you arrive at a nice viewing point.  This can be a sweeping vista or a close-up of a spider web or flower petal.  Now, tell your human camera to open her eyes when you gently tap her and “take a picture” in her head.  You can do this a few times, taking pictures of various garden delights.  Offer to trade positions and let your budding photographer guide you around the garden.  Discuss the things you took pictures of and why you took them and enjoy a new perspective!
